Duties and Responsibilities:
• Be the go-to resource for team members, providing on-site HR support, answering questions, and connecting them to the right resources.
• Conducting workplace investigations and effectively managing employee relations issues with field leadership. Providing conflict resolution support to leadership and team members.
• Managing leave of absences and worker's compensation claims (return to work/modified duty). This includes educating, communicating, designating leave types based on federal and/or state laws, sending paperwork, obtaining reports, and performing other relevant tasks.
• Support new hire orientations and onboarding, making sure every new team member feels welcomed and set up for success.
• Help ensure policies are applied fairly and consistently, building trust and clarity for both managers and team members.
• Assist with employee relations by addressing employee concerns, resolving conflicts, and maintaining a positive work environment.
• Work with field leadership to ensure all PAF forms are completed appropriated and submitted timely
• Oversee effective orientation, onboarding & training to drive engagement and retention.
• Ensures and facilitates effective communication to all team members in the store.
• Engages leadership to communicate and follow up with team members.
• Provides consultation, direction, and recommendations to field leadership regarding employee relations activities, dispute resolution procedures, corrective and disciplinary actions, terminations and EEO matters affecting employment.
• Assists with creating and implementing disciplinary action, performance improvement initiatives and terminations.
• Assist in employee relations by listening to concerns, documenting issues, and supporting conflict resolution, always with a people-first approach.
• Partner with site leadership to identify training needs and help coordinate development opportunities that help our people grow.
• Support employee engagement initiatives that foster a workplace where people feel valued and connected.
• Collect and maintain HR data and metrics with accuracy, giving the HR team insights to make people-focused decisions.
• Travel regularly to provide a visible, in-person HR presence.
• Assist in drafting and coordinating disciplinary actions, performance improvement initiatives, and terminations in partnership with the HR Manager/Head of HR.
• Serve as the first point of contact for team members requesting ADA accommodation or leaves of absence (FMLA, worker's comp, STD/LTD), providing guidance on the process and connecting them with the benefits team for case management.
• Act as the liaison with our worker's compensation insurance provider, making sure site teams are informed and supported.
• Jump in wherever needed to support the HR team's broader initiatives and goals.
Requirements
Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
• 2-3 years of experience in an HR role, ideally with multi-site support experience
• Knowledge of basic HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, and compliance
• Understanding of FMLA, ADA, worker's compensation processes
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with HRIS (Wurk preferred)
• Solid and hands-on understanding of human resources practices to include leave of absence laws
• Ability to handle sensitive and highly personal information daily and maintain confidentiality in a mature and insightful manner.
• High Energy and adaptable

• Tenacity, emotional consistency, and courage to manage/address difficult situations
