This position is responsible for directing, coordinating, and maintaining an accounting system that accurately reflects the financial standing of a large-scale, project-based organization. The ideal candidate will lead financial planning and budget management while ensuring all accounting procedures and reports adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Primary Responsibilities:

Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department and drive process improvements Serve as a strategic partner in planning and launching new financial initiatives Prepare, maintain, and analyze financial records and detailed reporting Analyze percentage-of-completion reports for complex, long-term projects Build and sustain strong relationships with external vendors, auditors, and regulators Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, billing, and overall cash flow Coordinate closely with corporate finance teams for consistent reporting and compliance Recommend key performance benchmarks to evaluate financial and operational success Support contract negotiations and capital investment evaluations with financial insights Collaborate with department leaders on business planning and financial strategy Help define and implement departmental goals, policies, and procedures Lead financial audits and recommend improvements to internal controls Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required) 5-10 years of experience in a mid- to senior-level accounting role Experience with public company financials (preferred) Background in general ledger accounting Familiarity with job cost and percentage-of-completion accounting (preferred) Strong knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, and financial controls Proficient in automated financial reporting systems Understanding of federal and state financial regulations Skilled in financial analysis, reporting, forecasting, and strategic planning Experience with long-term budgeting and rolling forecasts across business units
