Construction Estimator/Project Manager ND Construction Co. is a specialized general engineering and electrical contracting company with a primary focus on transportation infrastructure, traffic signal and street lighting projects. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Construction Estimator/Project Manager to join our team, specializing in public works electrical construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical estimating, project management, and a comprehensive understanding of public works contracting. Responsibilities Estimating: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for public works electrical projects. Review project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents to identify scope, materials, and labor requirements. Solicit and evaluate quotes from subcontractors and vendors. Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and identify potential challenges or opportunities. Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of historical project costs and labor rates. Project Management: Oversee all phases of public works electrical projects, from pre-construction to closeout. Negotiate and coordinate with subcontractors and vendors. Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation. Ensure compliance with all project specifications, codes, and safety regulations. Act as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions. Prepare and submit progress reports, change orders, and other project documentation. Manage project closeout procedures, including final inspections, punch lists, and warranty documentation. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Minimum 3-5 years of experience in electrical construction estimating and project management, with a focus on public works projects. Proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously. Strong understanding of public works bidding and contracting procedures. Proficiency in construction estimating and project management software. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
