Business Systems Analyst Role
Business Systems Analysts are responsible for developing and managing business, organizational, and operational requirements. They oversee the design, development, and launch of business systems supporting core organizational functions and business processes. The analyst elicits, analyzes, validates, and documents business requirements, helping the project team identify solutions that meet these requirements. Solutions may include system development, process improvement, or organizational change. They also assist with system issues by generating reports based on user feedback and providing solutions.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the gathering of business needs for medium complexity projects, translating high-level requirements into functional specifications and managing changes within our custom ERP system on the ApacheOfBiz Platform.
- Include detailed descriptions of business and technical requirements, considering regulatory, business, user, functional, and non-functional aspects.
- Define, organize, and schedule requirements management activities within the overall project plan, ensuring timely and on-budget execution.
- Design solutions for medium complexity projects through collaboration with business departments (Accounting, Quality, Sales, Supply Chain) and technical staff.
- Collaborate in planning, designing, developing, and deploying functionalities, enhancements, integrations, APIs, and external database connections.
- Conduct structured analysis of business processes and data flows, using modeling techniques to validate and organize information.
- Participate in business process re-engineering, understanding and redesigning processes for new technology implementations.
- Conduct workflow walkthroughs with users using diagrams.
- Develop test scripts, plans, and scenarios; test solutions against requirements.
- Plan activities and provide updates to the IT Manager on project progress.
- Prepare and deliver presentations with clear, detailed materials for communication.
- Assist in training end-users, providing documentation and support.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, including Access Control and Change Management.
