The Motor Vehicle Mechanic will provide maintenance and repair support for Terrestris Global Solutions' ground operations in Los Alamitos, CA. This position is responsible for diagnosing, servicing, and repairing a wide range of light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles to ensure they remain safe, reliable, and fully mission capable. The mechanic will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, and complete repairs in accordance with technical standards, safety regulations, and operational requirements.
You will:
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on a variety of vehicles, including light, medium, and heavy-duty wheeled vehicles.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to determine the root cause of malfunctions.
- Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and services in accordance with technical manuals, manufacturer guidelines, and safety regulations.
- Replace, adjust, and repair engines, transmissions, drivetrains, suspension systems, brakes, steering, and other components.
- Use diagnostic tools, schematics, and technical manuals to perform accurate and timely repairs.
- Maintain service records, work orders, and parts usage documentation.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
- Support ground operations by ensuring vehicles are fully mission capable.
- Perform additional duties as assigned in support of Terrestris Global Solutions' operational requirements.
You might be the professional we're looking for if you have:
- Authorization to permanently work in the United States without sponsorship.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational/technical training in automotive maintenance preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an automotive or heavy vehicle mechanic (military or civilian experience accepted).
- Knowledge of vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, suspension, and hydraulics.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair instructions.
- Proficiency with automotive diagnostic equipment and common shop tools.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in varying environmental conditions.
- Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred.
- ASE or EVT certifications are desirable but not required.
