At Volt, our greatest strength is our people Volt is immediately hiring for Systems Engineer in Aurora, CO As Systems Engineer you will be responsible for: Leading the Integrated Product Team (IPT) by applying Agile best practices in alignment with the overall program’s Agile strategy. You will manage the full suite of Agile processes for the Integration and Test IPT, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives. Your leadership will help ensure seamless integration with the ground segment, deliver value to the customer, and support the achievement of program goals. You will collaborate with the team to maintain a healthy backlog of well-defined, development-ready user stories, and support consistent and effective story point estimation. In addition to your Scrum Master responsibilities, you will assist the Integration & Test (I&T) Lead and Product Owners with system build, checkout, and integrated factory testing activities.. What You Will Do: • Work with Integration and Test Team and Product Management to create effective story point estimates • Communicate expectations and instill accountability in team members • Resolve conflicts, promote work sharing, and motivate teams toward common goals • Make timely and sound business decisions that support the business objectives • Manage multiple projects, tasks, and resources through effective organization. This is a Contract opportunity for 12 months. Security Clearance– Active Secret Clearance The Ideal candidate will have: • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience • Experience in Agile, Scrum, Kanban and/or project management methodologies. • Experience with application lifecycle management tools/platforms such as Jira, Confluence, Azure Devops or similar tools. • Experience with Gherkin, Behave, Python or similar applications • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent certification Qualifications We Prefer • Demonstrates a solid understanding of Scrum principles and practices. • Experience with satellite mission management and command and control • Experience with PERL or other scripting language • Experience with C++, Java, MATLAB or other programming languages • Experience with DOORS • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) • Good oral and written communication skills • Experience in systems engineering functions including large scale system integration, large Scale system test and verification • Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of tools (e.g. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) • Continuous improvement mindset: Commitment to improving team processes and performance through regular feedback and retrospectives. • Stakeholder management: Ability to manage and communicate with various stakeholders to ensure alignment and project success. • Adaptability: Comfortable with change and able to pivot strategies as needed to meet team and project goals. • Mentorship and coaching: Experience in mentoring and coaching team members in Agile practices and principles. • Risk management: Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks effectively. • Documentation and reporting: Skilled in maintaining accurate project documentation and providing regular status updates to stakeholders. • Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC): Understanding of the various stages of software development and how they integrate with Agile practices.
