The Shift Supervisor (3rd Shift) will be responsible for all production activities on their assigned shift and meet or exceed all quality and deadline requirements.

They will manage all department related activities which include selection, training, appraisals, discipline, and safety for assigned staff. Determines production priorities on a weekly basis and manage daily assignments.

REQUIREMENTS:

The incumbent is required to have a High School Diploma or GED. An associate’s degree in industrial, Business is a plus.

5+ years’ manufacturing experience in a supervisory role required.

Safety, quality, service and cost are the major criteria of job performance

Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems

Excellent communication skills are essential as well as ability to communicate, interact effectively and successfully with others

The incumbent must possess strong organizational skills, as well as be thorough, detail-oriented and be able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

Ability to manage, motivate, maintain full staff, and develop and effective team. The position is highly visible to all employees and the incumbent must affect leadership through integrity, knowledge, and personal example

JOB DUTIES:

Directs the manufacturing activities of all products including machines, spare parts, buildings & grounds and repair activities to meet customer schedule commitments within quality and cost objectives.

Maintain good labor relations by equitable administration of work rules, consistency and open communication with all employees to ensure employees are treated with dignity and respect.

Dedicated to serve on committees, i.e. WCM, plant safety, continuous improvement, LiveWell and Recognition programs.

Through effective direction, counselling and training, develop and maintain an effective organization through selection, development, compensation, overtime and motivation of all employees. Develop talents necessary to achieve short and long-range objectives.

Understands Lean Manufacturing Principles (Kaizen, 5S, Pilot Projects) and participates, supports and is familiar with Continuous Improvements methodology as it relates to WCM initiatives.

Develop and maintain a high degree of technical expertise for the design of all Saint-Gobain ADFORS products. Have an understanding of the system and operation the product is part of, assuring compatibility.
