About This Position: Over 52 million passengers traveled through Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport in 2024, one of the busiest airports in the country and in the nation\'s 5th largest city. Sky Harbor is the largest of three airports in the Phoenix Airport System (Phoenix Sky Harbor, Deer Valley, and Goodyear airports) which is operated by the City of Phoenix Aviation Department and has an economic impact over $44 billion annually.
Responsibilities
Airport Operations Aides perform a variety of duties associated with customer service, passenger assistance safety and security in the terminals, concourses, and on the ground transportation curb at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. All positions have extensive contact with the public and tenants and are frequently involved in customer service and conflict resolution that require the incumbent to work effectively in stressful situations. Typical duties may include monitoring queues, providing information, resolving passenger and tenant concerns, all while maintaining compliance with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) mandates and Phoenix City Code.

- Demonstrated understanding of aviation procedures, safety protocols, and operational coordination.
Salary
- Pay Range: $17.30 to $32.62 per hour.
- Hiring Range: $17.30 to $20.02 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications
- Education and experience enabling reading and writing at a level appropriate to the classification and the ability to learn airport security methods, practices, and procedures.
- Working conditions: may require irregular hours, weekends, holidays, and evenings; may require working outside in environmental extremes; may require standing, walking, and carrying items up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of team-oriented work experience with effective communication and collaboration, preferably in aviation, security, public safety, or customer service.
- Two years of customer service experience with direct, face-to-face interaction in fast-paced environments.
- Experience in airport operations or related fields.
- Experience in a high-responsibility, fast-paced environment involving operational efficiency and passenger service.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills across organizational levels.
