Summary The Electrician will install electrical wiring and assemble components in control cabinets according to drawings and wiring diagrams, squares and aligns components, drills and taps back plate to mount contactors, circuit breakers, inverters, relays, transformers, etc., connect color coded wires to PLC and other devices, tests and adjusts electrical assemblies using electrician's hand tools and test equipment, cuts, strips, bends and forms wire cable, layout and install electrical conduit using hacksaw, band saw, pipe cutters, pipe threader, mechanical or hydraulic pipe bender, inspects, repairs, installs, modifies, and maintains electrical/electronic systems, circuits and equipment. Currently seeking an Electrician to join our Hobby Airport location.

Responsibilities

• Assist electricians by performing on-the-job tasks under supervision to learn the trade and become a Journeyman Electrician.
• Attend job-related education instruction a minimum of one night per week for four hours.
• Work on installation, maintenance, alterations, additions and/or repairs of electrical systems and equipment within commercial, industrial, and residential premises.
• Complete on-the-job training as part of an Apprenticeship program (minimum hours defined by program).
• Attend required job-related education sessions and maintain a minimum passing grade as part of the apprenticeship.
• Complete an apprenticeship commitment with on-the-job and classroom hours.
• Must have own tools.

Qualifications

• Provide copies of required documents (e.g., Social Security card or birth certificate, photo ID, high school diploma or GED).
• No previous work experience is required.
• Be able to meet the contractor's New Hire Policy, which may include drug testing; the Apprenticeship Program is not obligated to place you with another contractor if not met.
• Obtain a State of Texas Apprentice License to work.
