Lead the actuarial pricing team for a unique group of business units: Construction Middle Market, Retail Energy & Multinational. Coverages include workers compensation, general liability, auto liability/physical damage, umbrella, contractor professional liability, subcontractor default, defense base act and foreign casualty. This position reports to SVP, Actuarial Pricing. Business Leader: grow and establish upper middle market casualty business within construction, oil & gas, and defense contractors. Work with BU leadership and strategic analytics to create actuarial analyses and large middle market processes that provide actionable information to BU leaders to guide strategy. Technical Pricing: establish and improve technical pricing by developing accurate risk assessments, refining the current structure, and building new models and predictors. Profitability Reviews: provide insight to BU leadership and senior executives on the health of the book, differentiating between products and segments and identifying growth opportunities. Focus on specialty products such as professional liability for contractors, subcontractor default, defense base act, foreign casualty, and traditional casualty lines for middle market construction and oil & gas risks. AVP-level candidates are typically FCAS with broad industry experience, capable of turning questions into solutions, managing teams, and partnering with executives. Experience in construction risk pricing is a plus. Strong entrepreneurial skills for building underwriting tools and leading research projects; superior communication for partnering with underwriters and presenting to leaders. Additional Details
For NYC/Jersey City, base salary range is $129,500 - $201,066/year. Position is incentive eligible. Compensation includes base salary and incentives; final offer considers location, scope, qualifications, and business needs.
