Overview
Olsson provides multidisciplinary design services for large hyperscale data center campuses and colocation data centers. We design throughout the U.S. on some of the largest and most complex engineering-driven projects. As a Senior Civil Designer with a grading & utility focus, you will work in a collaborative team environment on multi-disciplinary projects, design utilities and surfaces with oversight from an Engineer, and create detailed drawings and models to communicate design intent. Proficiency in Civil 3D and CAD software is required, including experience with Pipe Networks, Pressure Pipe Networks, and Surfaces containing Corridors and Feature Lines. Travel to job sites for observation and field work may be needed. This role supports our Data Center Civil team with flexible work options (remote and hybrid).
Responsibilities
Prepare plans and calculations in collaboration with licensed engineers.
Independently design utilities and surfaces under oversight, using Civil 3D and CAD software.
Produce sheet views and detailed drawings; develop models to communicate design intent.
Design Pipe Networks, Pressure Pipe Networks, and Surfaces containing Corridors and Feature Lines.
Contribute to projects with teams on campus scales ranging from ~20 to 200+ acres.
Occasional travel to job sites for observation and field work.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree in drafting or related field preferred.
10+ years of experience in drafting and design.
Experience in surface creation, analysis, utility design, and BIM coordination.
Proficient in Civil 3D software; strong CAD skills.
Ability to contribute and work well on a team.
Compensation & Benefits Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, geographic location, skills, education, and internal equity. The salary range listed is a guideline: $78,179 - $121,334 USD.
