Overview
Solution Engineer (Pre-Sales) – All Levels at Salesforce. The role supports multiple cloud offerings and verticals; recruiters and hiring managers review resumes across teams. Depending on the team, positions may be office-based, office-flexible, or remote. The Salesforce Solution Engineering (SE) team collaborates with customers, Products, and Professional Services to develop thoughtful solutions that connect with customers in new ways. SEs interact with the entire customer lifecycle and work in a fast-paced environment that blends design, business consulting, and technology to drive innovation. What we look for: a strong desire to demonstrate technical and/or sales skills, ability to solicit business requirements, develop technical sales strategies, configure and demonstrate solutions that address requirements, and deliver business value. Responsibilities
A Solution Engineer aligns innovative strategies to technology solutions within complex accounts, partnering with clients and cross-functional teams to drive multi-product solutions across Salesforce product lines. Work on business development, operations and IT strategies, and executive-level product demonstrations, acting as a trusted advisor to drive innovative solutions and improve business performance. Define problems from ambiguous business scenarios using research and assessment, identify opportunities, and recommend practical next steps. Evaluate and communicate solution options to influence client decision-making and help develop governance frameworks that deliver ongoing value. Demonstrate Salesforce solutions through software demos and rapid prototyping, construct future-state customer journey strategies, and map long-term IT roadmaps. Assist customers, Account Executives, and Professional Services with discovery, analysis, and strategic solution recommendations via live product demonstrations across Salesforce technologies. Identify customer needs and position the best Salesforce solution to achieve business objectives. Build and present customized demonstrations focused on Salesforce products for multiple personas, showing value and a path to outcomes. Communicate understanding of the customer architecture related to Salesforce solutions. Lead cross-functional solution guides aligned to opportunity strategy. Develop and deliver stories of the customer experience enabled by Salesforce technologies. Participate in product, sales, and procedural training and certifications to maintain vital knowledge for the role. Travel as required based on territory alignment and region. Required Qualifications
B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or equivalent experience. Experience evaluated on core competencies (e.g., leadership roles, military, volunteer work, or relevant work experience). Knowledge of related applications, relational databases and web technology. Strong oral, written, presentation, collaboration and interpersonal skills. Ability to work as part of a team to solve technical problems in varied environments. Minimum of 4 years of professional experience. Preferred Qualifications
Salesforce Certifications. Previous experience as a solution/sales engineer for a CRM company or similar technology.
