The Solution Engineer role is part of the Salesforce Solution Engineering team. We hire across multiple cloud offerings and verticals, including but not limited to Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Commerce Cloud, Heroku, Quip, and others. The SE role typically aligns with the Commercial or SMB market segments and may involve both product and industry teams.

Some roles may be office-based, office-flexible, or remote depending on the team. The SE team collaborates with customers, the Products team, and Professional Services to develop thoughtful solutions that connect with customers in new ways. This is a fast-paced, dynamic environment where expertise in design, business consulting, and technology is used daily to drive innovation.

Responsibilities

A Solution Engineer (SE) aligns innovative strategies to technology solutions within complex accounts and partners with clients and internal teams to drive multi-product solutions across Salesforce product lines.

Work on business development, operations, and IT strategy activities, delivering product demonstrations and acting as a trusted advisor to drive innovative solutions and business value.

Identify and solve business problems by defining problems, opportunities, and practical next steps through research and analysis.

Guide clients through decision-making processes by evaluating solution options and building consensus, including helping develop governance frameworks for ongoing value.

Demonstrate how connected experiences come to life with Salesforce solutions through software demos and rapid prototyping.

Assist with discovery, analysis, and the recommendation of strategic solutions, delivering transformational pitches based on live product demonstrations to validate the approach.

Discover the customer’s business needs and position the best Salesforce solution to achieve those objectives.

Build and present customized solutions and demonstrations tailored to multiple customer personas, showing how Salesforce accelerates business strategies and delivers value.

Convey an in-depth understanding of the customer’s architecture as it relates to Salesforce solutions.

Lead cross-functional solution guides and align them with the opportunity strategy.

Develop and deliver the customer experience story supported by Salesforce technologies.

Participate in product, sales, and procedural training and certifications to maintain essential knowledge for effectiveness.

Travel as required based on territory alignment and region.

Required Qualifications

B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, or equivalent relevant experience (experience evaluated against role competencies such as leadership roles, military, volunteer work, or prior work experience).

Knowledge of related applications, relational databases, and web technologies.

Strong oral, written, presentation, collaboration, and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to work as part of a team to solve technical problems in varied environments.

Minimum of 2 years of professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Salesforce Certifications.

Previous experience as a solution or sales engineer for a CRM company or similar technology.

Basic programming experience in HTML and other web-based technologies.
