The Data Architect will be responsible for developing database solutions to store and retrieve company information, installing and configuring information systems to ensure functionality, and analyzing structural requirements for new software and applications. The role provides end-to-end vision of how logical designs translate into physical databases and how data flows through the stages of data migration, governance, administration, integration, and modeling. This role leads cross-functional technical resources to deliver outcomes and serves as the focal point for technical delivery issues. The Data Architect collaborates with ITS teams, technology partners, and vendors to align on technical deliverables and policy goals. This position does not have direct reports but leads cross-functional resources. Responsibilities
Delivery responsibility and accountability on business projects Own data architectural design and ensure solution compliance Approve detailed data designs and vendor data designs to ensure adherence to enterprise standards, reduce complexity, and increase reusability Design data solutions that meet multiple stakeholders’ interests and leverage enterprise tools with reusable components Collaborate with business users to reduce data complexity and ensure designs meet business requirements Develop data strategies with PMOs, business teams, and Enterprise Architects Participate in Data Governance meetings to define ownership, usage, security, and quality Translate business requirements into technical requirements and designs with Data Analysts, Solution Architects, and Vendors Develop strategies for data acquisitions, archive recovery, and database implementation Design logical models for Databases, Data Warehouses, and Multidimensional Databases Provide consulting for Delivery and Support; influence data policies and future direction Collaborate to build ideal database, data integration, and BI infrastructure Establish data architecture design patterns and best practices; stay ahead of new technologies Provide leadership in technology services and end-to-end delivery, including risk assessment and escalation management Leadership Responsibilities
Act as the lead Technology Services representative in delivering technology solutions Provide technical leadership and direct teams in delivery Ensure solution operability and cost-effectiveness; identify required roles and resources Lead technical task planning, milestones, and quality delivery Develop TCO and financial estimates; coordinate with PM for production release and transitions Manage risks, bottlenecks, and vendor/partner relationships; provide feedback on performance Requirements
Minimum of 10 years experience as a Data Architect Extensive knowledge of data warehousing and BI techniques Leadership and strong communication to influence architecture and design decisions Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Good understanding of Azure Synapse, Informatica and Power BI (a plus) Communication and presentation skills for conveying data concepts to business users Understanding of Data Governance; data modeling and design SQL, NoSQL, and Big Data knowledge; security awareness Data Analysis, Data Modeling, Data Integration, Data Warehousing Tools knowledge for Data Disciplines; strong team player Creativity and lateral thinking; experience planning and executing using domain expertise Background in computer science and database management Key Skills
