Salary range for this classification is $12 7,108.80 - $1 54,649.04. This salary range includes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation. Actual salary shall be determined by the final candidates’ qualifications and experience. The Department of Public Works is currently seeking to fill one (1) Microsoft Windows Desktop Support Engineer (Network Engineer) position within the Technology Services Division. The Desktop Support Engineer role includes day-to-day desktop support, user support, patch management, system administration and maintenance. The environment includes over 700 Windows devices, approximately 50 servers, 500+ iOS mobile devices, all running on multiple network segments. Note:

Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM) Windows 11 OS deployment Windows Server 2019 or newer / Virtual Machines Active Directory (AD) / Group Policies (GPO) Autopilot / Intune / Azure PowerShell scripting Mobile Device Management (MDM) Basic SQL Knowledge Cyber Security Remediation Techniques Education

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, or a closely related field. Experience

Three (3) years of experience equivalent to performing technical work of complex difficulty to provide desktop support, data security, system administration, server administration, or network support to end users. Acceptable substitution: Two (2) years of related experience may be substituted for up to two years of the education requirement. Licenses or Certificates

Possession of a valid California Driver’s License. Possess an industry certification that demonstrates expertise in the relevant information technology field, such as a Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) certificate for Windows Server Enterprise; Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate; Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate; Amazon Web Services (AWS) Certification – Professional; OR an equivalent professional, industry recognized certification acceptable to the city. Desirable Certifications: Azure Administrator Associate Certification. Candidates who don’t currently hold a certification must obtain an industry certification that demonstrates expertise in the relevant information technology field, such as any of the above certifications or an equivalent professional, industry recognized certification acceptable to the city within six (6) months of hire.
