The Culture of Upward Basketball at Crestwood UMC At Crestwood UMC we want to help all people to take their next step in their walk with Christ whatever that might be. Upward Basketball at Crestwood UMC is a fun way to introduce kids and families to the love of Jesus and help them take their next step.
Upward Basketball is
for kids to learn the fundamentals of the game, teamwork and good sportsmanship
For all skill levels to enjoy the game of basketball equally
an environment where players, parents, referees and coaches will interact in a Christ-like manner and will not yell at one another
run by church and community volunteers who want to see kids have fun, learn and grow in their relationship with Christ
for kids and families to take their next step in their walk with Christ
where you will be welcomed, encouraged and have a lot of fun!
Upward Basketball is not:
A developmental league that will lead your child to a spot on varsity, NIL deal, playing overseas or the NBA / WNBA
A place where competition is the focus and kids, parents, coaches, volunteers and referees communicate with one another in non-Christ like manner. Refs, coaches, volunteers and parents should never raise their voices at one another. All of the coaches, referees, etc are volunteers.
A league where all-star teams are put together from across the county through teammate requests.
We hope Upward Basketball is for you. If it is not for you, we totally understand. We want to be clear that all players, parents, and volunteers will be held accountable to help create this environment. Send resume to Derek@crestwoodmethodist.com
