If you are looking for a place where you can make a difference in the life of a child, Project Harmony is looking for you. We are seeking an experienced and committed Director of Human Resources to join our dynamic and innovative organization. The Human Resources (HR) Director is an integral part of the broader operations team that is responsible for helping to build and lead Project Harmony’s cultural initiatives aligned to our values, strategic plan and mission. This position oversees key aspects of human resources, including compliance, policies and practices, employee relations, total rewards, vendor management, technology and data analytics. This role will report to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) to ensure that HR operations are creating a safe and healthy environment for all employees.

Responsibilities

Ensures legal compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and maintain practices that are compliant within the industry

Develop, implement and maintain HR policies/procedures and programs, in alignment with legal requirements

Support employee relations matters, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and workplace investigations with a high level of confidentiality and professionalism

Analyzes HR record system, reports, and metrics to support strategic decision-making

Ensure accurate data management, reporting and compliance with HR policies and regulations

Manage and maintain data integrity within the HRIS and across other HR platforms

Partner with COO to oversee payroll operations, audits, and surveys

Manage total rewards programs, including compensation and benefits, to promote employee satisfaction and organizational effectiveness

Partner with COO and third-party vendors to implement and manage MOU’s and contracts, ensuring operational efficiency that align with organizational goals

Monitors and oversees administration of leave management under FMLA, ADA/ADAA, STD/LTD, and workers’ compensation

Collaborate with COO on budgeting, workforce planning and succession strategies

Collaborate with the HR team, with other infrastructure processes and procedures to ensure consistency, effectiveness, and efficiencies for the organization

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree required in human resources, business administration, public administration, or related field

Human Resources certification (SPHR, PHR, SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, etc.) preferred

Experience And Training

10+ years of HR and people operations experience preferred

Progressive HR leadership experience

Proven track record of people management

Training and experience in HRIS/HRMS-including records management, ATS/recruitment, benefits administration, performance and LMS

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Expert knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including benefits administration, compliance/legislation, ADA, compensation practices, organizational culture, employee relations, performance management, and time & labor

Expertise in attracting, coaching, developing, and retaining a diverse, high-performing organization

Proven experience implementing innovative and strategic initiatives related to organizational culture and development

Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills

Strong organizational, time management and administrative skills

Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and active listening)

Ability to work in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively meets deadlines.

Strong knowledge of and use of Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) as well as SharePoint

Self-starter with ability to set priorities and work independently

Solid problem-solving and decision-making skills

Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism, confidence, and work ethic

Must respect and maintain confidentiality

Other

Must be willing to work flexible hours

Must submit to a thorough criminal history background check

Must have access to a vehicle, possess a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance

Position may involve some travel, primarily within the state
