Senior Director, Marketing Communications (with IR & PR Focus)
We’re looking for a strategic and experienced Senior Director of Marketing & Communications to lead our external communications efforts, with a strong emphasis on Public Relations (PR) and Investor-Facing Communications. This role is distinct from our Finance-led Investor Relations function—it focuses on shaping the company’s narrative, managing brand reputation, and ensuring clear, compelling communication with external stakeholders, including the investment community, through a marketing and communications lens.

Responsibilities Strategic Communications Leadership
Develop and lead an integrated communications strategy that supports business goals and enhances brand visibility.
Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on messaging, positioning, and reputation management.
Investor-Facing Communications (Non-Finance IR)
Partner with the Finance IR team to craft investor-facing materials such as earnings call scripts, shareholder letters, and investor presentations—ensuring consistency in tone, clarity, and brand alignment.
Lead storytelling and messaging strategy for investor audiences, focusing on long-term vision, innovation, and corporate narrative.
Support investor events and communications from a brand and messaging perspective, not financial reporting.
Public Relations (PR)
Oversee media relations strategy, including press releases, media outreach, and executive visibility.
Build and maintain strong relationships with media, analysts, and industry influencers.
Manage crisis communications and act as a spokesperson when appropriate.
Monitor media coverage and industry trends to inform proactive PR strategies.
Lead and mentor a high-performing communications team.
Collaborate closely with Marketing, Legal, Finance IR, and Executive teams to ensure alignment and consistency.
Manage external agencies and vendors as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in communications, Marketing, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
10+ years of experience in corporate communications, with strong experience in PR and investor-facing communications.
Minimum 5 years of experience leading this role in a public company, reporting to a C-Suite.
Excellent storytelling, writing, and presentation skills.
Deep understanding of how to communicate complex business strategies to external audiences.
Experience working alongside Finance IR teams, with a clear understanding of the boundaries between financial disclosure and brand messaging.
Experience in a publicly traded company or IPO-prep environment.
Background in a high-growth or innovation-driven industry.
Executive presence and ability to influence at all levels.
