Volunteering: Small acts, Big Impact!

Agape Care Group of SC has multiple opportunities to be a direct care volunteer. Scan the QR code to visit our page, learn more about the opportunities and apply to be a volunteer! Room Visitor: Goal: Decrease isolation and negative feelings. Activity: Provide one on one stimulation- hold hands, listen to stories, watch tv, put on lotion, etc. Reader: Goal: Stimulation; distraction from current situation; prevent boredom. Activity: Read books that are of interest to the individual. Family Support: Goal: Provide comfort when staying extended periods of time. Activity: Retrieve snacks, blankets, etc. for family so they don’t have to leave the bedside Pet Therapy: Consider bringing you certified pet therapy animal to a patient who may be socially isolated, lonely or need a joyful visit. Special Interests: Individual with special interests or talents; for example, musicians, hair stylists, massage therapist, and more are encouraged to apply and donate their time and skills. Code Comfort: Goal: No person dies alone. Activity: Sitting with someone who is within 24/48hrs of dying to ensure they are not alone. Family Respite: Goal: Stress relief. Activity: Sit w/ patient while family leaves to take a break Private Group Details: Group Size Range: 1 - 50+ Event can be held at a volunteer group location (e.g. office, park) Event can be held at organization location(s) No Donation
