The Superintendent, also known as the Construction Manager or Site Manager, is responsible for coordinating, directing, and overseeing the completion of all field activities and the performance of all aspects of the project, including self-performing trades, subcontractors, and suppliers. The success of a project is a direct reflection of the Superintendent s management abilities. The primary goal is to maximize long-term profits while maintaining a standard of excellence throughout the project. Success hinges on motivating workers and trade contractors to complete every project on time, within budget, and according to established quality standards. In this role, you will represent New Path Construction on all matters at the job site, working closely with the Project Manager. You will provide leadership, guidance, and coordination for all tradesmen and subcontractors working on the project. Daily oversight and management are crucial to ensure that all work activities are completed according to the project schedule. You will monitor and enforce all safety controls and procedures per the company s safety policy. Maintaining a complete set of up-to-date drawings and specifications in the field office, incorporating all bulletins, RFIs, and ASIs into a master set of drawings, is essential.
You will attend Owner, Architect, and Contractor project meetings and administer and document weekly subcontractor coordination meetings. Understanding and interpreting all general contracts, subcontracts, scopes of work, drawings, and specifications for a project is vital. Reviewing the constructability of project drawings and offering alternate details when applicable will be part of your responsibilities. Developing and updating a detailed project schedule through collaboration with the Project Manager, Scheduling Manager, and Subcontractors is necessary. Creating and distributing two-week look-ahead schedules to all subcontractors at weekly coordination meetings will help ensure orderly, efficient, and deliberate construction with a well-organized and efficient work environ
You will coordinate and manage a delivery schedule for all major material and equipment deliveries, administer, schedule, and document pre-installation meetings, and establish and maintain a construction sequencing and site logistics plan. Reporting and documenting project status daily, including recording daily reports to gather, organize, and file, is crucial. Providing daily progress photos, field issues, and incidents as required for proper documentation of activities will be part of your routine. Coordinating and managing all inspections required by local regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and building departments is essential. Ensuring quality exceeds the owner s expectations and managing the punch list and project closeout process to assure timely completion are key responsibilities.
Preferred to have a Bachelor s degree or equivalent work experience. Proficiency in computer abilities and a thorough understanding of the construction industry are required.
30-Hour OSHA Certification and familiarity with construction and OSHA-related laws and regulations are necessary.
You must possess the ability to interpret and understand general contracts, subcontracts, scopes of work, drawings, and specifications.
