The successful candidate will be involved in projects with our

Ports and Maritime Team

and be part of a growing organization that meets client objectives and solves challenges. The position offers opportunities to work from one of our Maritime offices in Raleigh, NC; Houston, TX; San Diego, CA; Irvine, CA; or Tampa, FL. WSPs Maritime group includes analysts, planners, and civil/structural engineers working with port authorities, the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Coast Guard, terminal operators, contractors, private entities, and municipalities. WSP has a long history in waterfront design and maintains a dynamic, collaborative culture. Your Impact Take responsible charge for supervising the work of staff engineers, supervising task leads, and self-perform calculations and prepare drawings and technical specifications. Prepare technical studies and reports and guide/review the work of staff engineers. Perform oversight of calculations, cost estimates, drawings, technical specifications and reports. Lead projects for marine facility projects (e.g., cargo terminals, federal facilities) and manage client expectations, budgets, and schedules. Coordinate multiple disciplines with internal and external teams (civil, structural, geotechnical, electrical, mechanical, coastal, fire protection, architecture). Prepare alternatives analysis reports and presentations for repair projects and capital improvement programs. Lead review meetings, client presentations, and design charrettes. Engage in business development and marketing activities; maintain client relationships; participate in proposals, presentations, negotiations, and staff estimates. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company resources and adhere to WSPs Code of Conduct and policies. Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering 7+ years of relevant post-education experience in engineering with marine, port, and coastal design experience Engineer license required (multi-state preferred) Aptitude in maritime codes (ASCE, COPRI, etc.) and DoD criteria (UFC, UFGC) Competency to supervise staff in modern design software Proven track record of safety compliance and adherence to WSP health and safety policies Flexibility to a variety of schedules and ability to prioritize under pressure Occasional travel may be required Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card (background check required) Preferred Qualifications Masters Degree in Engineering Experience with design and management of Port Authority, Navy, or Coast Guard projects
