OpenShift Infrastructure Engineer role at Jobs via Dice. Client: Adbakx LLC. This role is focused on the Red Hat OpenShift platform within a private cloud environment, with responsibility for day-to-day management and stability of the private cloud infrastructure. Location: Alpharetta, GA | Duration: Contract Responsibilities
Perform daily operational tasks related to the support and maintenance of the OpenShift platform. Apply patches and updates to OpenShift clusters to ensure platform security and stability. Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across the OpenShift environment. Collaborate with development, DevOps, and security teams to support application deployments and ensure platform readiness. Automate routine tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, Ansible). Maintain and optimize system performance, resource utilization, and capacity planning. Participate in on-call 24x7 support rotation and respond to incidents related to OpenShift and associated infrastructure. Ensure compliance with internal standards, security policies, and industry best practices. Document operational procedures, configurations, and platform changes. Qualifications
3+ years of experience with OpenShift (v4.x preferred) in a production environment. 3+ years of experience with Kubernetes architecture and container orchestration. 3+ years of experience in Linux system administration (RHEL preferred). 3+ years of experience with platform patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management. 3+ years of experience with infrastructure monitoring, logging, and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, EFK/ELK stacks). 3+ years of experience with CI/CD practices and related tools (Git, ADO, Jenkins, ArgoCD). Knowledge of networking and security concepts within a cloud-native environment. 1+ years of scripting skills (Bash, Python, Ansible, etc.). Preferred
Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration or equivalent certification. Experience with virtualization platforms and private cloud environments (e.g., VMware/OpenShift Virt). Familiarity with service mesh, ingress controllers, and load balancers. Experience in highly regulated or enterprise-scale environments.
