Avionics Communication Senior Systems Engineer

The Tactical, Communications, and Maintenance Applications (TCMA) team based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has a new opportunity for individuals who want to grow their technical expertise on complex programs and be a part of an innovative and fast-paced avionics business area. Teams are composed of cross-functional engineers working in an AGILE environment (approximately 6-10 people) focused on the design and development of software-only products. Our team focuses on creating avionics solutions for both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft, including the integration of various radios and surveillance equipment for domestic and international military customers. We are looking for an Avionics Communication Senior Systems Engineer to join our TCMA team in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The successful candidate will be responsible for design, development, integration and verification of KC-135 avionics solutions. What You Will Do: Assist in leading systems engineering development tasks within the Agile framework Present technical information and status to the Agile team and immediate levels of engineering leadership Work with other team members and domains to maintain and develop requirements and design to satisfy customer needs Continually work to maintain compliance with Agile team as well as Collins Aerospace standards and best practices Develop automated and semi-automated software test scripts via Python language Provide support for verifying software builds in an integrated test environment Support formal verification events during major deliveries Provide mentorship to other engineers toward helping the team/program succeed Continually developing and improving practices and processes related to test development Willingness to travel (domestically

Qualifications You Must Have: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience. Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance after day one.
