About the Role:

We are seeking a highly organized and professional Medical Receptionist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients, scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and ensuring the smooth operation of the front desk. As the first point of contact for patients, the Medical Receptionist plays a crucial role in maintaining a positive and welcoming environment for all visitors.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years of experience in a medical office or related field
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Bilingual – Spanish required

Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and visitors in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner.
  • Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and route calls appropriately.
  • Schedule and manage patient appointments accurately.
  • Check patients in and out, providing necessary forms, instructions, and documentation.
  • Verify insurance details and coverage; collect co-pays and outstanding balances.
  • Assist with prior authorizations, referrals, and related documentation as needed.
  • Coordinate with clinical staff to support efficient patient flow and communication.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk and reception area.
  • Ensure all duties are performed in compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards.

Skills:

The Medical Receptionist will utilize their excellent communication and customer service skills to provide exceptional care to patients. They will also use their organizational skills to manage patient records and schedule appointments efficiently. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EMR (eCW) systems is required to perform daily tasks. Preferred qualifications such as a degree in healthcare administration or experience with insurance billing and coding will be beneficial in this role. The ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment is essential to succeed as a Medical Receptionist. Prior knowledge and usage of the ECW system
