POSITION SUMMARY:

The graphic designer uses imagination, talentand skill to create visual concepts, layouts, graphics,photos and other design materialsfor a variety of print and electronic media. The graphic designeris expected to proactively plan and execute compelling visual concepts thatmeet marketing objectives and strengthen the University brand and image. The graphic designeralso takes provided conceptual work and moves it through the finishingprocesses to arrive at a finished piece with proper formatting for digitaldistribution or print production. The graphic designer works collaboratively with all unitswithin the Division of Marketing and Communications as well as numerous campuscolleagues.

DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:

Using imagination, talent and skill to conceptualize and design layout proofsthat creatively meet communication, marketing and branding goals. Revise proofsin collaboration with creative services director, marketing communications teamand colleagues in order to solicit approvals. Prepare files for numerous printand electronic formats, creating final print production files and/or digitalassets and attending press checks when applicable. Develop and maintain brandappropriate template solutions for campus partners.

Aids inUniversity asset gathering needs by conducting, or supporting, photo shoots,video shoots, and studio headshots.

Meets regularlywith the creative services director, fellow designers, marketing communicationsteam members and colleagues in order to kickoff projects and brainstormworkable solutions to issues that arise.

Manages, organizesand archives project job files and assets

Completes other duties as assigned.

Minimumqualifications:

Bachelor's degree in graphic design or a related field from an accredited institution.

1-3 years ofrelevant work experience.

2-3 years of experience in industry leading design and content creation platforms

2-3 years of experience in industry leading office productivity programs

Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination ofexperience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilitiesrequired to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is notlimited to, the following:

Familiarity withDSLR camera operation, photographic principles and basic lightingtechniques.

Familiarity withSocial Media Platforms and tools.

Familiarity with web content management systems; experience in CMSpreferred.

Familiarity withdigital asset management systems.

Familiarity withproject management systems.

Working knowledgeof higher education landscape, trends, and issues desired.

Accurately andeffectively meets demanding deadlines for multiple projects.

Strongcolleague-collaboration attitude.

Ability toestablish and maintain effective working relationships with the UniversityCommunity.
