Scientific/Technology Locations Durham, North Carolina; Raleigh, North Carolina; Richmond, Virginia; Virginia Beach, Virginia Job Description The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is responsible for providing fair balanced, objective, scientific information and education to opinion leaders (OLs), health care professionals, and internal partners as required by scientific and business needs. The MSL is a scientific and clinical knowledge lead on current and future J&J Innovative Medicine products per Therapeutic Area (TA) alignment. The MSL stays abreast of current scientific and treatment landscape trends in their TA, provides research support for company and investigator-initiated research, and operates with integrity and credo values. The MSL builds external relationships with identified OLs and health care providers (MD, PA, NP, RN, Pharm.D., biocoordinators) and develops/manages a geographical territory. Engagements may be virtual or in-person, with a prioritization of in-person engagements when appropriate. The MSL develops and maintains a territory strategic plan, including educational activities with OLs, HCPs, institutions, and community practices. The MSL rapidly identifies and compliantly collaborates with field-based partners to support Healthcare Providers, positively impacting patient care. The MSL continues to enhance skills and agility, applying Change Management, Time Management and Innovation. All activities are conducted in accordance with current regulatory and health care compliance guidelines. This is a field-based clinical position requiring travel, primarily throughout the assigned geography, with infrequent travel outside the geography. Travel for this role is estimated at 70%. Provide scientific and clinical information to OLs and HCPs in the assigned TA Develop and maintain a territory strategic plan with educational activities Engage with field-based partners to support Healthcare Providers and patients Ensure activities comply with regulatory and compliance guidelines Qualifications
PharmD, PhD, MD, or other advanced medical degree, NP, or PA with 2+ years relevant TA clinical experience Ability to travel up to 70% including overnight and some weekend commitments Ability to drive and fly to meetings/congresses/headquarters Valid U.S. driver’s license and clean driving record Reside within the defined territory or eligible for relocation Preferred
Minimum 2 years relevant work experience including clinical, research, fellowship, or pharmaceutical work with presentation skills Knowledge or experience in Immunology or related TA Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and remote technologies Reside in the designated territory Compensation & Benefits Anticipated base salary: $115,000 to $197,800. Eligible for a company car through the FLEET program. Eligible for annual performance bonus. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and other plans.
