The CNC Programming position will work in collaboration with the Manufacturing Team to program and troubleshoot a wide variety of CNC mills and lathes. They will also work in collaboration with machine shop management and the machine shop team to develop and produce accurate and efficient programs per scheduling needs. This individual will be paramount in working towards building a team environment and a center of machining excellence. Duties And Responsibilities
Adheres to company polices and presents a professional, positive attitude at all times. Proficient in using MasterCam, Tool Manager, Code Expert/Sync Manager, and Mill/Turn Environment. Experienced in fixture and work holding design and 3D modeling with an emphasis on SMED. Competent creating and implementing 3D tools inside of MasterCam. Ability to understand and modify basic post processors as needed. Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, or engineering information to verify the methods or sequences of operations needed to program and machine parts. Accurately read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions to ensure machined parts meet all quality specifications. Strong understanding of materials and related SFM and IPT/IPR relationship. Be well versed in M and G codes, their uses, and required formats. Coordinate with Engineering and Quality to resolve blueprint and model issues related to the programming and machining of various machined parts. Use appropriate software to locate and manage program and part files. Proficient at setting up and troubleshooting all lathes and mills in the machining department. Assist the Production Supervisor and Operations Manager in meeting and maintaining production schedules and delivery requirements. Confer with Engineering, Quality, and Machinists to evaluate new or existing parts and recommend changes or modifications to improve efficiency and adaptability to setup and production. Use measuring instruments or gauges to assure conformance to all quality specifications. Observe and listen to operating machines in order to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine the need for adjustments or repairs. Complete documentation to meet all ISO requirements. Adhere to all quality and safety standards and policies, including wearing of appropriate PPE throughout the BG Automation campus and all BG properties. Separate and dispose of scrap or waste material in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations. Maintain a clean, organized, tour ready work area and maintain all equipment to a like new appearance. Actively collaborate with other programmers and machinists to resolve issues, train, increase machining skills and build a team environment with no egos. Other duties as needed or assigned. Tools
