General Function
The Admissions Specialist is responsible for the admissions processing of the College. Performs a variety of tasks related to enrollment advising students into CCR programs and supporting them through the admission process for the various programs. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Day-to-day tasks may include meeting potential students, enrolling them into the CRM.
2. Meets with prospective students to provide information and guidance to assist in their transition to a college environment via email, phone, face to face and virtually.
3. Reviews student's intake forms and refers prospective students to placement testing if necessary. Assists students in CCR intake process.
4. Input, update, and review student information into database and other spreadsheets.
5. Explains policies, procedures, and program requirements and assists students in selecting educational and career goals.
6. Advises and assists students in planning and selecting courses that meet program requirements, educational and career goals.
7. Collaborates and communicates with CPCC Testing Center, CCR Advising team and CCR coordinators.
8. Creates, maintains, and updates the program LEIS form.
9. Stays abreast of all program application requirements and revisions, sends out admission notifications
10. Sends electronic notifications and updates to prospective students.
11. Performs other tasks as assigned.
Minimum Requirements and Preferred Qualifications High School Diploma or GED with related experience.
Preferred Requirements: • Associate degree from an accredited institution and one year of office experience • Experience in a higher education setting, specifically in student admissions or advising
Additional Information Working Days: Monday - Friday
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics: • Knowledge of standard office procedures and equipment; Microsoft Office, Google documents and Adobe skills • Knowledge of college systems such as Advansys Sharepoint, Datatel, My College, Perceptive Content, etc. • Writing and proofreading skills; Attention to detail • Initiative to lead and assist students in admissions as needed • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task to support multiple programs • Ability to work with the public and individuals from diverse backgrounds • Strong customer service skills: Ability to work internally w/ faculty, staff & students • Willingness to contribute creatively to process improvements and outreach Working Conditions:
