Identified Talent Solutions, Irvine, CA, US
Job Description
Business Data Analyst, Workday Finance Data Readiness
Location: Irvine, California (Hybrid)
Contract term: 9 months with potential extension
About the engagement
Our client is rolling out Workday Financials. Your focus is the business side of data readiness so clean, complete, and approved data is available for each migration cycle. You are the link between Finance and the program data team. You coordinate what gets extracted, who fixes it, when it is due, and you secure business sign off each cycle. You do not design technical mappings or build the loads.
Why this role matters
- Drive timely, business led readiness for each migration cycle across Finance and adjacent functions.
- Keep business work aligned to program data standards, scope, and schedule.
- Maintain an auditable trail of decisions, validations, and reconciliations.
What you will do
- Partner with SMEs to confirm in scope datasets, data owners, and extraction approach.
- Coordinate cleansing within business teams. Track ownership, dependencies, and due dates. Escalate blockers early.
- Keep readiness dashboards, issue logs, and trackers current. Report weekly status to leaders and governance forums.
- Align with the program data team on standards and timelines. Join mapping workshops, rehearsals, and mock load reviews.
- Confirm business validation and sign off for each cycle. Support reconciliation discussions after loads.
Important boundary
You are not the technical migration owner. Transformation logic, mapping standards, and load preparation sit with the program data team. Your focus is business coordination and readiness.
Deliverables you will own
- Data readiness plan covering scope, sources, owners, and schedule.
- Live cleansing tracker and issue log with owners, resolutions, and approvals.
- Weekly status reports that surface progress, risks, decisions, and dependencies.
- Documented business sign offs for each cycle.
What you bring
Must have
- Strong grasp of Finance data structures and related business processes.
- Hands on experience coordinating data readiness or migration within enterprise programs.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills that drive accountability across teams.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Workday Financials and ERP data migration concepts.
- Comfort with collaboration tools for tracking and reporting.
