LHH is seeking a Patient Access Representative to help create a positive experience for patients through personalized care and efficient service. You'll be the first point of contact for Emergency, Outpatient, and Labor & Delivery patients, ensuring accurate registration and compliance with healthcare regulations. Key Responsibilities Accurately enter patient demographics and verify registration fields
Obtain regulatory signatures before and during patient stays
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Notify Patient Financial Advisors of applicable outside coverages
Communicate payment liabilities and collect patient cost share when applicable
Top Skills Needed Strong customer service orientation
Attention to detail and data entry accuracy
Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, and push for extended periods
Human Relations Skills Empathetic interaction with patients, families, and staff
Tactful communication with diverse groups
Active listening and timely, competent responses
Schedule Orientation Week:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Ongoing Schedule:
36 hours/week | 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM on Sunday, Wednesday, and Saturday
Qualifications Education:
High School Diploma required; one year post-high school education preferred
Experience: One year in healthcare financial services
One year in office customer service
OR two years post-high school related education
OR equivalent combination of education and experience
Two years in hospital registration (Emergency Room setting)
Patient-facing customer service experience
Certifications Certified Healthcare Access Associate (preferred)
American Heart Association BLS (CPR)
Basic Medical Terminology Certificate or transcript
Typing test: 35 WPM minimum
System Knowledge Required:
Epic ADT (Admit, Discharge, Transfer), Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook, POS system (cash handling)
Preferred:
Epic Account Notes, Real-Time Eligibility
Pay Details:
$24.00 to $27.00 per hour
