Position Summary
The Business Development Executive role focuses on identifying, securing, and managing new clients for recycling and waste solutions across Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties. Candidates should reside within this territory. The Business Development Executive reports to the Chief Sales Officer/Sales Manager. After a 60-day onboarding period at the corporate office, the position transitions to remote work with occasional in-office meetings. This is a high-impact, hunter-style role with a strong emphasis on generating organic growth and recurring business. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and execute strategic business development plans to drive growth and expand market presence within assigned territories. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders to support long-term business success. Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, and emerging technologies to identify new opportunities. Generate leads through cold calling, networking events, referrals, and marketing campaigns. Conduct client needs assessments, site visits, and deliver tailored solutions. Collaborate cross-functionally with Account Management, Client Success, and Operations to ensure solution feasibility and scalability. Represent Certified Waste Solutions at industry events and targeted networking opportunities. Demonstrate a goal-oriented mindset with a strong sense of urgency, accountability, and a proven track record in performance-based environments. Track and report sales activity, pipeline progress, and goal attainment using CRM tools and regular updates to senior leadership. Contribute to a culture that values innovation, agility, and teamwork. Qualifications
3-5 years of experience in business development and sales Proficient in CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Industry experience in waste management or related fields preferred Bachelor's degree preferred Skilled in brand development through professional networks, associations, and social media Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experienced in delivering impactful presentations Excellent organizational skills for planning outreach, client meetings, and goal tracking Willingness to travel across the territory, including occasional overnight trips
