Construction Project Manager based in West Los Angeles.
MUST have commercial TI (tenant improvement) experience from a general contractor, adaptive reuse is preferred.
The team is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager with a minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction. The role entails full responsibility for daily execution, project controls, engineering, cost, risk, and business management of specific projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing commercial projects in sectors such as entertainment, high end hotels, adaptive reuse, creative office, and production studios.
- History of overseeing commercial construction projects up to $15M.
- Collaborating with project teams, executives, and regional leadership.
- Supervising team members including senior project engineers, engineers, superintendents, and field office coordinators.
- Mentoring and training project engineers for rapid growth.
- Maintaining detailed knowledge of project scope.
- Managing cost control, billings, collections, change management, cash flows, and monthly status reports.
- Serving as the primary contact for owners and architects.
- Ensuring project completion and financials, meeting critical success factors and customer satisfaction.
- Coordinating and overseeing project planning and scheduling.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build team morale and manage complex issues.
- In-depth knowledge of building processes and systems.
- Minimum 3 years in cost estimating, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, project management software (Autodesk or similar) and scheduling software (MS Projects or similar).
- At least 5 years of commercial construction experience and 3 years as a Project Manager.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related field is advantageous.
- OSHA 30 Certification is required.
- PMP certification may be required.
- Negotiating the best contracts to ensure maximum profitability.
- Obtaining relevant permits and licenses.
- Determining the necessary resources (time, cost, labor, materials) for each project.
- Advanced understanding of construction processes, principles, materials, and tools.
- Excellent leadership abilities.
- Great time management and organizational skills.
- The ability to communicate clearly.
- Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Liaise with external vendors.
- Job will require travel.
- A robust work ethic and a proactive attitude.
