As Lead Automotive SoC stability engineer, you will bring in a blend of advanced technical expertise in the Linux/QNX kernel and SoC architecture, combined with strong leadership and project management skills to oversee the stability, reliability, and performance of the Linux and QNX operating system software on Snapdragon automotive Chipsets.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure the stability and reliability of Snapdragon automotive platforms (IVI, ADAS) running Linux/QNX/AndroidOptimize the system for robustness by analyzing and tuning the kernel, drivers, middleware, and applications for specific use casesAct as the final point of escalation for stability issues identified during development, testing, and field deploymentUtilize advanced debugging tools and methodologies to pinpoint the root cause of complex problemsWork closely with cross-functional teams, including HW engineers, firmware developers, and application software teams, for fast incident response to critical issuesMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ years of Software Engineering or related work experienceMaster's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 7+ years of Software Engineering or related work experiencePhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience4+ years of work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.Preferred Qualifications10+ years of experience in embedded systems, automotive software, Linux/QNX/Android platform developmentA deep understanding of SoC architecture, including CPU cores, peripherals, trade-offs in performance vs low-power designIn-depth knowledge of Linux kernel, device drivers, and advanced troubleshooting with hypervisorsStrong understanding of embedded Linux build systems like YoctoDeep expertise in security features like verified boot and trusted execution environmentsProven track record leading Linux/QNX product launches triaging critical system robustness issues under tight deadlinesDeep understanding of Clocks, PLLs, GPIO, Interrupt Controllers (GIC), Peripherals (SPI/I2C/UART/CAN/Ethernet/Clock/etc)Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex technical issues and report on project status to both technical and executive stakeholdersAbility to guide and mentor junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environmentEqual OpportunityQualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
