As Plant Manager/Chief Engineer, you will help oversee and coordinate activities of the plant operation department under the direction of the Director and/or Senior Assistant Director. Responsibilities
Plan, organize, and control activities of the plant operation department under the guidelines of the Director or Assistant Director to keep staff engaged in maintaining, repairing, and renovating the facility\u2019s plant and facilities. Plan and supervise plant operation and capital projects, ensuring regulatory compliance, developing preventative maintenance programs, managing utility systems, and coordinating with other hospital departments and external contractors. Oversee energy management and life safety systems to ensure a safe and efficient environment for patient care. Maintain flow and quality of work to assure timely completion of assigned workload and adherence to quality control standards. Review and evaluate existing methods, systems, programs, practices, and procedures; develop and recommend changes to the Director or Assistant Director. Implement or guide implementation of new and/or modified methods, systems, programs, practices, and/or procedures. Prepare and maintain a variety of department records in compliance with JC, CMS, DNV, DOH, and local authorities. Maintain adequate inventory of materials, equipment, and supplies and initiate requisitions as needed. Serve as a member of the facility\u2019s fire response team. Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required; 2-year trade school or bachelor\u2019s degree or equivalent work experience preferred; prior military experience will be highly considered. A valid 1st Class Steam Engineer License issued by the State of Maryland or 3rd Class Steam Engineer License issued by the District of Columbia. EPA Section 608 Technician Certification. Minimum of 5 years’ facilities experience with emphasis on business services within a large organization preferred. Ability to meet deadlines and make sound decisions in stressful situations. Strong customer service skills required; ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form. Ability to multi-task, organize, and establish priorities; exhibit initiative, responsibility, and flexibility. Commitment to hands-on, team-oriented management; experience in leading, training and mentoring others. Proficiency with Internet and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
