Job Title: Special Education Supervisor Reports To: Director of Special Education
Qualifications
Principal or Supervisor of Special Education Certificate required Master's Degree in Education or Special Education preferred Minimum of three years' experience in a Special Education Supervisory role School Psychologist Certificate and background preferred Exemplary written and oral communication skills required Ability to prioritize tasks to maximize efficiency Must possess excellent organization skills
Duties and Responsibilities 1. Act as the LEA for all in-district students 2. Manage the organization of all special education paperwork for district students 3. Manage all referrals for district students in need of full-time special education supports; attend in-district meetings in which full-time supports will be discussed 4. Work in collaboration with building administrative staff, Wesley Family Services and Devereux to develop the Full-Time Emotional Support- Therapeutic Classrooms within the district 5. Provide information to and answers questions for parents of Medicaid-eligible students 6. Assist the Director of Special Education with Extended School Year organization 7. Assist the Director of Special Education with annual DART Transition to Kindergarten meeting and spring planning for Early Intervention students transitioning to Kindergarten 8. Assist the Director of Special Education in on-site trainings 9. Supervise case managers 10. Assist the Director of Special Education with Chapter 16 Gifted Education
Terms of Employment Salary, work schedule, evaluation and other conditions of employment are in accordance with current Act 93 agreement.
