katie.mcpike@pediatrix.com Overview Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Opportunity - Flexible Scheduling | Beautiful Ozark Mountains | Springfield, MO Responsibilities Are you looking for a rewarding neonatology role that also supports a healthy work-life balance? Nestled in the scenic Ozark Mountains and near multiple lakes, our practice offers the ideal blend of professional fulfillment and personal flexibility. We are a well-established team of 4 neonatologists and 5 NNPs with a manageable Level III NICU — a place where you'll care for a balanced mix of patients without the high-volume burnout. Whether you're looking for a full-time role or part-time flexibility, we invite you to consider joining our team. We are interested in finding an NNP for flexible coverage to support a model where the NNP provides replacement coverage for the backup neonatologist in a 6–8 hour daytime rounding shift, or 12-hour nighttime in-house coverage to relieve the daytime NNP, or an occasional 24-hour shift to provide PTO coverage for an NNP. Work Schedule (Full-Time): 7 in-house 24-hour shifts per month using a self-scheduling model for maximum flexibility
Two neonatologists provide supervision and support daily and share in primary care of critical infants, with one neonatologist providing backup from home (30 min response time for high-risk deliveries under 27 weeks or with major issues)
Routine C-sections are attended by charge and procedural nurses
Routine newborn care is handled by hospital-employed pediatricians
NICU transport (air and ground) is supervised by the neonatologist with a team of transport NICU nurses/RT. Very rarely, an NNP may be requested to go by ground to assist the team
Our NICU at a Glance: 46-bed, Level III single-room design with average census of 25
~450 admits/year with 10% under 1500 grams
High-frequency oscillators, jet ventilators, iNO (ECMO and cardiac patients are transferred to in-state Level IV regional NICUs)
Total body cooling with 24/7 video EEG and pediatric neurology support
POCUS with bedside ultrasound available
Donor milk + dedicated milk tech preparation of feedings
EPIC and Baby Steps Cloud EMRs
Dedicated procedural nurses: delivery attendance, intubation, umbilical and PICC line placement, NICU transport (air and ground)
NICU-dedicated SLP/PT/OT/RT/pediatric pharmacy 7 days/week
