Primary job will be the site build process and handling the site build process: documented, still some manual effort involved. Follow a procedure and understand what they are coding and make improvements. Continuous improvements, operationally aware. Own a problem till it's resolved. Responsibilities
Update Code packages, send out Code Reviews by following a well-defined process Run scripts to generate network configs Travel to LAB sites to apply configs On call: after hours, weekends with the team. Maintain operational excellence and anticipate potential issues in advance Weekly rotation, 24/7 coverage, expected to work a normal shift; compensation for high severity shifts Backlog of improvements to the network that customers ask for, assigned on a bi-weekly basis Lead improvements in existing processes and identify opportunities to enhance or develop new processes Experience working in a highly available network and highly operationally aware environment Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years industry experience Excellent IP networking fundamentals and extensive experience applying IP protocols for both IPv4 and IPv6 In-depth knowledge and experience with major internet routing protocols, preferably BGP and OSPF In-depth knowledge of and experience with major routing and switching platforms, preferably Cisco Catalyst/Nexus and Juniper SRX/QFX/MX Excellent network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills Significant experience with many of the following: LAN/WAN Ethernet MSTP, VRRP, GSLB, anycast, multicast, MPLS, TACACS, IPSEC VPN, NetFlow, SNMP, syslog Willing to work flexible hours and participate in a team on-call rotation Thorough understanding of TCP/IP core technologies (IP, TCP, OSPF, BGP, Firewalls, ACLs, DNS, DHCP, IPAM) 2 years of major internet routing protocols experience through network layers 1-4 2 years of working in a Linux/Unix environment 1 year of network automation scripting using Python, Perl, Bash, or similar Experience with cloud networking in AWS using Terraform or CDK Experience designing IPv6/IPv4 networks and implementations Experience updating code packages and conducting code reviews Experience with generating network configurations via scripts Benefits & Work Environment
