Responsible for 24/7 database administration support for Sybase, MS SQL database platform. This support is for both production and non-production database environments. The support includes but not limited to maintaining database environment health, performing database specific deployments, business resiliency (in and out of region), upgrades, performance tuning, defining rules and setup monitoring, new builds, and retirements. Design and implement database solutions to meet the company's operational and ensure business resiliency requirements. Contribute to the development and execution of technical road maps for Database Operations. Provide on-call support on rotational basis. Other duties as assigned. Position may be eligible for part-time telecommuting. Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or related discipline plus 8 years of progressively responsible experience with database administration on Sybase replication technologies. Experience must include the following: Eight (8) years of experience in Sybase and MSSQL database administration. Eight (8) years of experience installing, configuring in Sybase and MS SQL platforms. Five (5) years of experience performing query optimization and server tuning within Sybase and MSSQL platforms. Five (5) years of experience performing Unix shell scripting. Five (5) years of experience migrating Sybase from Solaris to Linux OS and from Sybase to SQL database. Five (5) years of experience setting up database monitoring tools like Quest-Foglight/Spotlight. Five (5) years of experience performing enterprise-wide disaster recovery activities for Sybase and MSSQL. 40 hours per week 8:45 AM to 5:15 PM. Work location: 6555 Excellence Way, Plano, TX 75023.
