We are seeking a skilled SAP Business Analyst to support Phase 2 of the Polaris Project—an enterprise-wide digital and business transformation initiative.
This phase includes upgrading SAP ECC to S/4HANA, enhancing Salesforce utilization, implementing Master Data Governance (MDG), and deploying a modern Data & Analytics platform.
The analyst will serve as a liaison between IT and business units, helping align technology with business strategies, gathering and documenting requirements, and supporting system implementations.
This is a hands-on role requiring a blend of business process knowledge, technical understanding, and strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary interface between IT and assigned business units throughout Polaris Phase 2.
- Participate in workshops and meetings to gather and translate business requirements into system specifications.
- Document business and IT processes using industry-standard tools and methods.
- Support system design, configuration, development, testing, and deployment activities.
- Collaborate with technical teams to understand third-party application architecture and integration points.
- Assist in managing upgrades, releases, and user updates to maintain system integrity.
- Develop and deliver user training, testing plans, and post-implementation support.
- Contribute to project planning using project management principles and tools.
- Advocate for effective use of enterprise systems to improve business processes.
- Maintain strong cross-functional relationships and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in IT or business systems-related roles.
- 1–3 years of experience gathering and documenting requirements and supporting system implementations.
- Familiarity with system development lifecycle (SDLC) and test planning/execution.
- Knowledge of cross-functional system integration and basic database structures.
- Experience writing functional specifications and collaborating with technical teams.
- Exposure to SAP environments (S/4HANA preferred) or Salesforce.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate business needs into IT solutions.
- Self-starter with a strong desire to learn and drive innovation.
- Experience in the oil & gas or process industry.
- Experience supporting greenfield S/4HANA implementations.
- Up to 50% travel may be required, with a minimum of 25% (approximately one week per month), primarily to Jackson, MS, and other U.S. locations as needed. ( occasional onsite - travel recovered) Raleigh
