The Employee Health/Outpatient Nurse Supervisor performs supervisory functions for the Employee Health/Outpatient unit, providing oversight of nursing services rendered. Oversees implementation of established policies/procedures, ICF/IID Regulations, medical/nursing policies/procedures, and the NC Nurse Practice Act to provide optimal nursing care for individuals and employees. Job responsibilities include the following:Exercises a high level of independent clinical decision making. Provides training and mentoring, reviews work performed by assigned nursing staff and others, and provides input to the Director of Nursing or a higher-level Nurse Supervisor for development of policy and procedures.Assists in solving professional, administrative, and supervisory employee relations issues.May perform limited budgetary functions. Coordinating nursing and training programs. Supervises RNs and LPNs assigned to the area and provides health care instruction to Healthcare Technicians as indicated. Responsible for quality assurance audits, continuously monitoring the care provided, identifying nursing training needs and developing approaches to solve problems.Communicates closely with the Nurse Director, Nurse Supervisory III, Physician Managers and other department heads as deemed necessary. May serve on multiple committees and act as liaison to assure that issues are resolved as promptly, so continuity of care is provided. Ensures provision of competent nursing care to individuals living in the homes and employees and may occasionally provide weekends, holidays, and after-hours supervision. Assisting in solving professional administrative and supervisory problems in an assigned area. Evaluate the quality of nursing services delivered and to institute methods of improving or maintaining established standards of nursing care. Management Preferences:Management prefers but not required, experience in Employee Health/Outpatient and EHR-EPIC.
