The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, follows company best practices, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate may be asked to perform various tasks in all areas of the Store as business needs require.
Essential Functions
- Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors in everything they do.
- Maintains awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment; reports unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
- Treats Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; greets customers and uses company recognition programs for colleagues.
- Assists Customers by being register-trained, answering questions, and presenting merchandise in a courteous and knowledgeable manner.
- Responds promptly to Customer service calls and escalates to Store Leadership when needed.
- Represents and supports the Company brand at all times.
- Performs cleaning tasks and maintains neat and organized areas; replenishes supplies as needed.
- Maintains professional appearance and adheres to the dress code.
- Executes daily merchandising and recovery tasks to keep the store neat and well-presented.
- Expedites newly received merchandise to the sales floor and follows presentation guidelines.
- Understands Loss Prevention and merchandise protection standards.
- Safeguards confidential information, cash, and merchandise; demonstrates integrity and honesty.
- Follows MOS policies and maintains awareness of cash handling procedures.
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency to maximize productivity and follow Store best practices.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required
- Effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements / ADA
- Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PCs as required.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the Store for up to 100% of working time.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, and stoop; occasionally lift more than 25 pounds.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other assigned supplies.
- Stockroom assignments may require lifting more than 20 pounds.

The base pay range for this role is $16.50 - $17.00. The base pay range is dependent on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location.
