Job Description
Responsible for making outbound sales calls and responding to sales inquiries in a positive, friendly and courteous manner. Assists in booking organizations and private groups looking to host an event. Provides up to date knowledge on all sales venues to guests inquiring.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Handle e-mail and telephone inquiries regarding group events in a timely manner.
- Maintains a working knowledge of the casino's facilities, as well as current and upcoming special events and promotions on property, in order to advise guests and fellow employees of same, whenever possible.
- Responds to special requests of guests, as well as guest concerns and inquiries in a calm, prompt, courteous manner.
- Listens to guest's concerns, and effectively resolves issues, or directs issues to the appropriate department for resolution.
- Assists in evaluating outside sales leads and works with group leaders to secure bookings in event space, private dining rooms and group room blocks.
- Generate BEOs, contracts and group resumes
- Assists in managing active accounts by following up with clients for final guarantees, room set up details and catering specifics.
- Meet or exceed monthly sales booking quotas as assigned and assist in achieving or exceeding budgeted goals in sales.
- Promotes exceptional guest relations, to achieve the desired level of guest service and satisfaction.
- Conducts tours of property, as needed.
- Held accountable for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.
- Attend off-property events as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
One to two years' previous hospitality or event management/ sales experience preferred.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess excellent communication skills and a patient, positive demeanor. The ability to stand on a hard surface, for long periods of time, is required. Must be able to use a computer. May occasionally travel. Should we add HACCP, ServSafe, and active alcohol permit to this position?
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Some analytical ability is required in order to summarize data for reports and find solutions to various administrative problems. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to prepare and interpret graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense reasoning to a variety of situations.
