Job Title: Staff Accountant

Job Description

We are seeking a Staff Accountant who not only possesses a strong foundation in accounting principles but also demonstrates initiative and a proactive mindset in driving process improvement and financial accuracy (Houston, TX).

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare and review financial statements, including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow Statement.
• Assist with monthly close activities by gathering, validating, and posting journal entries in a timely manner.
• Identify missing or incomplete information in financial data and work with relevant teams to obtain it.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Take ownership of improving accounting processes and finding efficiencies in workflows.
• Actively push and follow up across the organization to meet month-end deadlines and close cycles.

Key Qualifications

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statement relationships.
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in financial work.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to spot inconsistencies or gaps in data.
• Self-starter with the confidence to take initiative and follow through.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
