Job Description

As a Security Guard - Telecom Patrols in Virginia Beach, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom and more. You will join a leading team where flexibility meets opportunity. This is a Part-Time Security Officer role using our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and pick up open shifts based on your availability, giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you while gaining valuable site experience across various industries. You will help maintain a secure environment within a dynamic tech, media, and telecom location, conducting regular patrols, remaining highly visible to deter incidents, and responding promptly to situations. You will interact with employees, visitors, and guests, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication at all times.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Days and Times – Overnight shifts on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10:00 PM to 06:00 AM.

What You’ll Do

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and respond to emergency situations as appropriate
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns
• Monitor for unusual activity or potential hazards within the tech and media environment, reporting findings as required
• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, visitors, and team members to support a secure environment
• Document incidents, observations, and activities in accordance with Allied Universal and client requirements

• Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available

Minimum Requirements

• CPR certification is preferred
• Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred
• A valid Guard Card or security license is preferred
• Customer service experience is preferred
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only
