Overview

WSP’s Visualization and Data Intelligence (VDI) practice supports mission-driven professional services and consulting projects. VDI is a creative, results-oriented in-house design and technology team delivering multifaceted visual products for clients. Our team collaborates across disciplines to combine visual communication with technology.

WSP’s VDI practice is initiating a search for a Senior Graphic Designer based out of WSP’s Lakewood/Denver, CO office location. You will work on multiple concurrent projects for both short- and long-term durations, in close collaboration with colleagues and clients. The workload is fluid and driven by client schedules. The successful candidate must be motivated to work in a fast-paced consulting environment and stay current with the latest design technologies and trends.

Your Impact

  • Create highly polished original designs and visual solutions for national-level projects.
  • Provide design consultation and solutions by working with clients and peers.
  • Collaborate with VDI design professionals to develop tailored, multi-disciplinary creative solutions.
  • Consult with peers and subject-matter experts on design process and effective solutions.
  • Interpret complex technical information and develop visuals that communicate to non-technical audiences.
  • Manage multiple projects in parallel with shifting priorities and support to adjust as needed.
  • Maintain and grow relationships within WSP to generate project work.
  • Coordinate with the Graphic Design Group Lead to ensure high-quality design products and deadlines are met.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • A design portfolio with clearly identified roles and contributions; portfolio required for consideration.
  • Either a bachelor’s degree in graphic design with 5+ years of experience, or an associate degree with 7+ years of experience in graphic design.
  • Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Cloud suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat Pro.
  • Proficiency in design skills including design process, color theory, typography, publication, print pre-production, and IP considerations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Ability to lead and participate in design teams as required by the project.
  • Ethical, detail-oriented work ethic that values creativity and quality.
  • Collaborative, growth-oriented mindset aligned with a supportive team culture.

Your Application Will Be More Successful If You Have

  • Proficiency in at least one other design realm (e.g., Figma/UI/UX, Premiere Pro/video, After Effects/motion graphics, accessibility tools).
  • Familiarity with architectural or engineering design, including scaling, dimensions, and construction details.
  • Familiarity with videography and video production processes.
  • Proficiency designing for accessibility and Section 508 compliance.

Compensation

Expected Salary (Colorado Only): $100,000 - $110,000

WSP USA provides the compensation range in good faith for this position in Colorado, based on education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, with consideration for internal equity and geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range and to offer additional benefits, depending on circumstances not related to protected status.
