Overview
CAPTRUST is seeking a
Corporate Counsel
with commercial contracting experience to join our internal legal team. As counsel, you will provide practical legal advice while mitigating legal risks for the company. The role will work closely with senior internal counsel and other business partners as well as external counsel. The candidate will maintain high professional and ethical standards, have excellent time management, organization, and decision-making abilities, be able to prioritize projects and deadlines, be collaborative, and accountable in a fast-paced and evolving environment. The ideal candidate will be a mid-level associate seeking broad transactional in-house experience with a focus on growing needs of the company.
Responsibilities
Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts (NDAs, vendor agreements)
Maintaining standard documents and internal playbooks related to contracts and other matters as needed
Assisting internal counsel on a broad range of transactional matters including due diligence
Participating in firm initiatives relating to client contracting or other corporate legal matters
Executing projects through completion
Communicating clearly and accurately across various levels
Providing additional legal support and counsel to business groups across the firm
Minimum Qualifications
Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
Licensed to practice and in good standing in the applicable jurisdiction
4-7 years of law firm or in-house experience
Desired Qualifications / Skills
Knowledge of the investment advisory industry; particularly institutional practices
