This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Chief Financial Officer, in Washington, District of Columbia. This is a non-bargaining unit position. Duties

As a Data Scientist (Data Management), GS-14 you will perform duties including identifying and collecting data from various sources, performing data cleaning and wrangling, conducting data analyses, interpreting findings, and presenting results to audiences, including the Office of Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) leadership. Coordinate with stakeholders to collect requirements and develop new data products, such as forecast models, cost projection calculators, interactive dashboards, automated reports, and performance outcome (KPI) visualizations. Collaborate with the Office of Chief Information Officer (OCIO) to investigate and evaluate the suitability of emerging tools, methodologies, and techniques. Work with stakeholders to develop strategic approaches in utilizing data to build data products that inform OCFO activities. Conditions of employment

Per OPM Individual Occupational Requirements YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING: Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. OR Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown above, plus additional education or appropriate experience. For GS-13 Specialized Experience: One (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as: Plans and conducts special studies to answer ad-hoc inquiries from leadership. Builds tools/apps to support the collection of data for further analysis. Participates in drafting data management strategies. You will be evaluated based on how well you meet the qualifications above. We will review your resume and supporting documentation to determine eligibility. If you meet the minimum qualifications, you will be assessed via questionnaire to categorize you into Best-Qualified, Well-Qualified, or Qualified.
