Overview

Senior Structural Analyst, Fluid Systems – Lunar Permanence at Blue Origin Role: part of the Lunar Permanence business unit developing Blue Moon landers and related products. The goal is to build sustainable infrastructure for transporting crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface, enabling millions of people to live and work in space. As part of the fluids and propulsion team, you will lead the structural analysis efforts for the fluid system components and work directly with NASA and National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program. You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Transportation system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence beyond Earth. Responsibilities include applying technical expertise, leadership, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Responsibilities

Conduct structural and dynamic analysis of valves, tubing, mounts, COPVs, etc. Provide technical guidance, oversight, and analysis reviews/approvals for designers and other analysts performing structural analysis Identify opportunities for safety improvements, cost savings, and weight savings Support configuration development and trade studies Review supplier analyses of COTS valves and support qualification efforts Maintain and report on work tasks, schedule, and technical status Minimum Qualifications

B.S. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering 10+ years of experience in structural and dynamic analysis of pressurized components and systems (valves, tubing/piping, pressure vessels) Experience with FEA tools (ANSYS preferred) including structural, dynamic, and thermal analyses Working knowledge of 3D CAD programs (Creo Pro/E and Pro/E Piping module preferred) Experience with cryogenic systems Experience overseeing, reviewing, or approving other analysts’ work Expertise with fatigue analysis and fracture mechanics (hand calcs, NASGRO, VCCT, etc) Knowledge of manufacturing methods, material selection, testing, characterization & allowables development Ability to earn trust and maintain positive professional relationships Preferred Qualifications

Experience with analysis of components involving welding or casting Experience with statistical analysis for design allowables Experience with one or more of these codes: Nastran, ANSYS (structural, dynamic, thermal, CFD), Abaqus, LS-Dyna, Optistruct Compensation
