Overview
The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Professional Services (ProServe) team is seeking an experienced ProServe Cloud Architect (PCA) to join our team. You will work with customers to understand technical requirements and business objectives, design and implement tailored cloud solutions, and play a key role in the pre-sales process by providing technical expertise and guidance throughout the customer’s cloud journey. You will lead solution design to address customer business outcomes (CBOs) and act as the conduit between ProServe Account Executives and Shared Delivery Teams (SDT) to ensure proposed solutions are realistic, achievable, and optimized to maximize CBOs. As a PCA, you will be a trusted advisor on industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative solutions, and you will share knowledge within the organization through mentoring, training, reusable artifacts, and process improvements. Your experience designing technical solutions in the technology/consulting sector will enable you to architect complex, scalable, and secure solutions tailored to meet customer needs, translating technical concepts into business value. Your success will be measured by impact on SOW signings, successful implementations that achieve CBOs, and customer satisfaction (CSAT).
The AWS Professional Services organization is a global team that helps customers realize their desired business outcomes when using the AWS Cloud. We collaborate with customer teams and the AWS Partner Network (APN) to execute enterprise cloud computing initiatives and provide focused guidance through global specialty practices covering a variety of solutions, technologies, and industries.
Key responsibilities
Design complex, scalable, and secure AWS solutions to deliver customer business outcomes (CBOs) Provide technical guidance and best practices during pre-sales and implementation phases Collaborate with Account Managers and Shared Delivery Teams to ensure proposed solutions are realistic and achievable Act as a trusted advisor to customers on industry trends and emerging technologies Share knowledge within the organization through mentoring, training, and creating reusable artifacts About the team

5+ years of experience in cloud architecture, designing and implementing cloud solutions Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience Strong hands-on development experience with modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Java) and data technologies (SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Kinesis) 3+ years of experience with AWS service suite, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation), security tools and frameworks, and compliance automation tools Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph Advanced technology degree or AWS Professional level certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional) Deep understanding of AWS services across compute, storage, networking, security, databases, machine learning, and serverless technologies Knowledge of security and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) Expertise in performance optimization and cost management for cloud environments Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences as part of pre-sales motion Experience in technical pre-sales and mission-focused solution architecture, with demonstrated ability to drive revenue through technical leadership Experience supporting federal/defense customers with complex enterprise cloud migrations and modernization initiatives, including classified environments
