Responsibilities Operate a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images used by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies. Possess thorough knowledge and understanding of the principals and physics of magnetic resonance imaging. Select appropriate imaging techniques and protocols to complete the exam. Receive patients, explain method of examination, position patient, perform IV puncture, and administer IV contrast agent when indicated. Independently perform and complete routine examinations. Meet the needs of the patient, family and multi-disciplinary team through effective communication, coordination and documentation ensuring safety, care, courtesy and efficiency. Actively participate in quality initiatives to ensure the highest level of patient satisfaction, care and workflow efficiencies.
Qualifications
Associate Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one-year minimum related experience and/or training, required. Current ARRT (R) (MR) or NMTCB registry, required. Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association, required. Ability to interact with people of all ages, required. At least one (1) year of experience as an MRI Technologist in a hospital environment, highly preferred.
